Sunday January 19, 2014

There is a chance of snow bringing an end to the nice day today in south Dakota.

In the Ukraine there was unrest with people.  There were some demonstrators and i guess there is basically more unrest in the Ukraine.

There was more coverage of the metrodome being deflated

There were some studies of eyesight in Oxford England.

A lady who was doing some aid work in Somalia but got kidnapped and months of talks.  She survived off of cans of tuna fish and some water.  Exposure and some illnesses.  A kidney infection led to contact
With the US government.  She was rescued by an American team of seals who came to pick her up and laid on her to protect her when they thought bandits may be in the area.
Jessica Buchanan has written a book about her ordeal.

The lost boys of Sudan also made a bit of news telling some of their stories. Bodies were shot in a river connecting to Ethiopia. Some went to Kenya and some came to the USA eventually after taking some quick classes to teach a little of culture and getting together. Airports were very odd for them and then there were some jobs.  The USA was very odd for them and 9/11 happened. Then the planes stopped coming but the guys got to know winter. Driving cars was pretty difficult for some them since many may have been more used to travel by foot.
